Let's see if this lasts a bit longer...
Looking for a road which has changed names sevetal times since it was constructed, lies on an island which has also changed names a few times. Originally the road had a german name. Was changed to sound more english but now has a "new" german name.
Any of the names of the road will do!

Truly, not a simple question presented in a poetic form. Now I have all the criteria for all colonies through: road construction; German name; former German island.

Togo = No island
Cameroon = No island
Southwest Africa = shark island / Shark island, but no German street name
Tanzania = Mafia Island, but no German street name
South Sea = Many, many islands; but no clear German names
Tsingtao = No island, but German street name

I think you must us give a `small´ broad hint.

Broad hint
30.000 years ago - First people there. 3.000 years ago - The local Population of the area arrived. 1600s - The dutch set foot there.
1700s and several times during the 1800s the french try colonizing the island. After failed french attempts the germans succeed. After WW1 Australian and during WW2 Japanese. Then back to Australia and finally part of an independent state.

Island might be New Britain or New Guinea main island WWI chronology could make it only German new guinea - as for road????

Well Tanzania, you too are very very close. The island in question is mentioned in the article, actually both german/english names
are there!
A street I would consider as something "short" in distance and confined to a town or village... "The streets of New York". The one in question is a road and long... "all roads lead to Rome". The french word "chaussée" or english "highway" would be more fitting for what I'm looking for

Yes, the German Administrator Franz Boluminski and his highway on the island of Neumecklenburg or New Ireland. I like the idea of it regaining a historical "german-english" name in honour of, not the Kaiser but the man behind it.

this picture and question looks rather easy on first glance, but it’s not´. Very good question!
The photo shows not an art nouveau or neo-Renaissance building style, like train stations in GSWA or in Tsingtao. The, at that time existing buildings in Togo or Cameroun seem too small to me. But even the biggest stations in GEA looked different. (Kigoma, Tabora, Kilossa, Morogoro) The train station in Mwanza looks similar, but was built later by the Brits.
To be honest, I have currently no idea. But I keep searching.

I'm sorry if I misled you. Although planned, that building did not exist before 1914.
Photo is most likely from late 1920's when French completed the rail line to that town (in 1927).

Now you probably know the answer!
