ok Chris, but they did not settle their colonies in mass like your Dominion
however, the DOA and the DSWA were good countries to settle and to found the New Germany
like the New England, New France, New Spain......
thanks :)

There are a couple of factors here.

Germany did not have her overseas colonies for very long. It takes a bit of time to install harbors, roads, railroads, etc. Once some basic infrastructure that Europeans take for granted is in place immigration will increase. Kamerun and Ost Afrika were just reaching this point when WWI brought German immigration to a halt.

The German economy was among the fastest growing in the world during the decade prior to WWI. With the economy thriving people had little incentive to leave the German fatherland and settle in the wilds of Africa. The French and British economies were only growing half as fast. Consequently poor people in France and Britain looked to the colonies as a chance to improve their situation.

The first Reichskommissar of Deutsch-Ostafrika and founder of the "Wissmann-Truppe", which was 1891 changed to the Schutztruppe DOA. He hired the first Askaris.

Viel danke Reichskolonialsamt :) ,
the DOA was the strongest and the most important german colonie, I don't know many things on it, just that the Askaris' resistance with
von Lettow-Vorbeck against so many enemie troops till the end of war, that's very impressiv, don't you know any the most
important battle places ? even if it was above all a guerrilla.

Grußen aus Normandie !
