Hi Chris

In these film show the rivality between two kings, Mataafa, one of best friend of Stevenson and Laupepa, puppet of Germans. Stevenson is against the gunboat diplomacy that affect the samoan people. Stevenson was judged for the Germans and it was almost banish from the island.

In the end of film Stevenson die, and King Mataafa was talked into surrendering and was taken to the German Marshall Islands with some of his supporters.

In the summer of 1898 Malietoa Laupepe died and Mataafa returned on a German ship to claim the throne.

it is sad as europeans powers manipulated the samoans.

Cheers

Cristiano.
