German colonial troops several times crossed the border with South Africa and they tried to support Maritz uprising.
I read that Schutztruppe occupied Walvis bay for some time. Which german companies from DSWA participated in these offensive actions?
Best regards

I think the Maritz rebellion was a pure Boer affair.
About Walvis Bay:
The enclave was overrun by the Germans early in World War I, but South African Forces eventually ousted the Germans in 1915 and Walvis Bay was quickly integrated into the new martial law regime established in South-West Africa

Schutztruppe incursions into SA
Thank you Utrecht.
First I found the same piece of information and then some more from http://www.klausdierks.com and http://www.GermanColonialUniforms.co.uk
It looks like that Germans took Walvis Bay on the 29th March and occupied it till
25th Decmber 1914.
But who is Oscar Scultetus? And which Schutztruppe units participated in this "invasion". Were there any British or South African soldiers/policemen
in that port ?

15.09. The Boer rebellion breaks out. Boer General de la Rey loses his life and Reverend Christiaan de Wet is later jailed. Commander Andries de Wet informs a gathering at Lichtenburg in Transvaal that the South African military intervention in SWA should be resisted. This leads to open rebellion by some South African troops under the command of General SG Maritz.
Many Boers volunteered to help the defence of German South West Africa as guides and scouts but also formed the company strength South African Free Corps and later a Free Artillery Battery too. The Free Corps fought several actions against South African forces, but were disbanded in early 1915.
24.09. .The Germans attack Walvis Bay under the command of Oskar Scultetus.
09.10. Some South African Boers fight alongside the Germans. The skirmish of Rooisvley under the command of Commander Andries de Wet ensues (Another battle takes place at Keimoes on 22.10.). The last battle of the Boer Free Corps is fought in Upington (24.01.1915). The Boers surrender on 31.01.1915.
30.10. Germans enter South Africa and destroy the railway line from Steinkopf to Port Nolloth.
25.12. South African troops (approx. 1 000 men) land at Walvis Bay.
Beginning February The Germans attack Kakamas in South Africa

Oscar Scultetus was Hauptmann of the Schutztruppe and Commander of the Küstenschutzabteilung (Coastal Defence Detachment).Nadir Shah wrote:

A patrol of this detachment raided Walvis Bay on September 23, 1914 in order to destroy the cable-station
and all weaponry and ammunition they could find.
During the following months Walvis Bay was visited several times by patrols but never occupied as a whole.

Fast, easily moveable patrols worked out of Swakopmund to the North and South.
Only after the British landed in Walvis Bay and occupied Swakopmund it was increased to 160 men,
in order to counter the British reconnaissance forces in the Namib.
