Nice footage. Information in this footage would be great help when I make a trip to Qingdao (靑島) by ship next month.

Hi Kim,
Glad you liked the footage. Good luck on your trip. I'd be very curious to see any photos you take of modern Qingdao and it's German remains. I don't suppose though that there will be much left of the old German fortifications.
Cheers
Chris

I go to China every second month. Whenever I'm there, the most pleasant thing to me is to taste Qingdao beer (青岛啤酒).

And Qingdao is the closest Chinese city from my current location.

I'm not sure yet but it seems that I'll be able to go to Qingdao by ship next week. I'll take some photos there and post them in this thread after I come back.

I'm now in Qingdao. This is the most beautiful city I've ever visited! :o I didn't know that there is such a beautiful city on the opposite side of the Yellow Sea... At such a close distance...

Now I knew why the Germans chose Qingdao as their new colony 110 years ago.

Today I've just come back from my one week long trip to Qingdao. I'm greatly impressed by beautiful buildings and streets of Qingdao and beautiful girls. Qingdao has reputation as the cleanest and most fashionable city in China. Qingdao girls' fashion sense is on the top of China and is almost the same level with that of Seoul. My impression was that there is a country called Qingdao independent and different from China. :D

Here are photos I took in beautiful Qingdao.

St' Michael's Cathedral was designated as a Provincial Treasure by the Shandong government in 1992.

Qingdao is filled with innumerable European style buildings.

Zhan Qiao was destroyed by Germans during the siege of Qingdao in 1914 and was rebuilt in 1931.
