Great History and i believe little know,
but there is a Spanish book about this story.

Spain received lots of german military and civilian fledged to Spanish Guinea, this people was transported to Spain in 1916, and many settled in Zaragoza which were very successful, married Spanish women, and helped in setting up breweries in Zaragoza, sausage, created one very strong influence in these city.

In May 1916 came to Zaragoza 347 German internees from Cameroon. Not many, but called attention to lot. These Germans, civilians and soldiers, laid the city upside down for a while and, at the end of the Great War, many were able to avoid the repatriation order and remained in the country. They became the nucleus of a very influential German colony, united by blood, friendship and money with the elites of Zaragoza.

Fascinating. I didn't know Germans left their mark in Spain before 1930s. I wonder if there are any photos of German everyday life there?
