This is a documentary about the last of the Jamaican Germans who live in a small village in the isolated mountains of Jamaica that was at one time a all German community.

it states that they are the descended of Germans who came in the 19th century but does anyone think any of them could have come during world war two?

thank you for the greeting chris and yes few people know about the Jamaican German community it is nearly extinct and much of its history and culture has died out and become hidden.Chris Dale wrote:Hi Deffender,

i think it is important to learn more about it and preserve its history
Re: Jamaican Germans?
More probably some might have gone back to Germany in WW2.deffender wrote: it states that they are the descended of Germans who came in the 19th century but does anyone think any of them could have come during world war two?
Re: Jamaican Germans?
well i have heard people say that some came before and even during ww2 to Jamaica but i personally doubt this because the documents that people have state that all the migrants came in the 1830s.Auseklis wrote:More probably some might have gone back to Germany in WW2.deffender wrote: it states that they are the descended of Germans who came in the 19th century but does anyone think any of them could have come during world war two?
and being that Jamaica was english territory up until 1963 i do not see why germans would migrate into enemy territory.
