I have a question to the Anglosaxon public of this forum - do you know any TV documentaries on fightings in the Pacific in 1914? I am especially interested in Samoa, Tsingtau and New Guinea!

I haven't seen any but a year or so ago, I did hear that a UK company was looking at doing a documentary on the Battle of Tsingtao... but I don't know if they ever made it or finished it. It certainly hasn't been advertised over here.

Cheers

The German TV made an interesting documentary on the history of Tsingtau, yet only the last minutes are devoted to the siege itself:

Still, better that than nothing.

Very good documentary, covers all the basics of Tsingtao's German history. I especially liked the opening bit inside a bunker...

Thanks for posting...

You're welcome

But I still can't believe the Aussies haven't done any similar movies on their takeover of german colonies...

Samoa was, by all accounts, a 'model German colony' under Solf...
