Waterberg Commemoration

#1

Post by DSWA » 19 Aug 2012, 12:16

Good day all

We had the Waterberg yearly Commemoration Day on the 12 August at Waterberg Namibia.
This commemorates the Jan 1904 Herero Uprising and the battle of Waterberg in Aug 1904
Photo in the attachment.

Thanks for sharing that with us.

Is Waterberg Day a big celebration in Namibia or just a small parade?

Cheers
Chris

I believe it was one of the bigger battles ever fought on the african continent. My relative was serving at Waterberg as an artillerie unteroffizier so I also commemorated this event privately, at my home.

Hi Uncle Fritz.
Yes it was one of the bigger battles in DSWA. If I may ask who was your relative?
