Two more photos from a Google search. I would like to have a cannon in my biergarten.

There is a sign displayed next to the cannon at the new museum in Iringa and the gentleman in the photo described it as "left by the Germans". I wonder what the sign actually says?
Inscription reads:
CANNON
A cannon of german origin. It was found at Tosamaganga and later brought to the Boma in Iringa Town
It´s finding location indicates that it was used in the shelling of Kaderenga, Hehe Chief Mkwawas Fort in 1884

Tosamaganga is roughly 15km SW of Iringa.
Wintgens had to abandon one of the captured guns due to a severe lack of porters and draft animals.
When Lt. Tom Prince captured Mkwawas Fort he had only a 4.7 cm gun and a Maxim at his disposal....

Courtesy of Dr Anne Samson:

Rand Daily Mail, Johannesburg, Saturday, 1 November 1919 (Front Page)

"Pretoria's Great Fete" (lower 3rd column)

Three guns from the Konigsberg were on display in "Burger's Park".

I will post the PDF file that Dr Anne sent me as soon as I can figure our how to do it. Ha!

This is Burger's Park in Pretoria.

I was incorrect. The models come in a wide variety of scales. They are very nice.

Hello Chris,

Is it possible for you to search the British naval archives for the ships Severn and Mercey, especially for detailed photos?

I wrote an index for the book by Ludwig Böll: "The operations in East Africa".

And here is another coin from my collection:

Thanks for answering. I have the book from Chatterton: "The Königsberg Adventure", and I know the several web pages with some pictures from "Severn" and "Mersey".

Thanks for the tip, I haven't read that book but I've just ordered it now!

Have you searched the Imperial War Museum website. I found quite a few like this one titled "British Monitor "Severn" toeing prepared for an attack on the German Cruiser "Königsberg", June 1915". I searched for "Severn" in First World War Photographs, then "Mersey" in same categories.

Hope that helps.
Cheers
Chris

I notice that many of the images posted here are not displayed in this thread any more.

Has any of the members here perhaps saved a copy of all 47 pages, complete with images?

Kind Regards
Kallag
