Mates,
I have been try to find what this unit maybe, but all my ideas have failed?
Can you point me in the right direction?
An AIF soldier show service in this South African unit
A Sqn /BNH
I was thinking it was a British/South African colonial unit that was used in Western Africa 1914/15 but that hit a dead end so far?
Any ideas?

BNH (what unit?)
Re: BNH (what unit?)
Steve,
I have try to find out what the shortcuts means.
AIF is clear, Australian Imperial Force and Sqn is Squadron, but what, or who is BNH?
Regards Holger

Re: BNH (what unit?)
Mate,
See the (AIF) Australian Service record for this soldier
CARTER Charles Eric 2348 A/Sgt 9 LHR 16R to 3 LHTR 6-16 Tos A Sqn? 8-16 to L/Cpl 9-16 to T/Cpl (from taylor) 1-17 to Cpl 3-17 to T/Sgt A Troop? (from Miller) 3-17 WIA 19-4-17 chest shot at 2nd Gaza RTA wounded disch 1-10-17
(Ex British South Africa ASqn/BNH TF 1 year)
Farmer 23 from Yongala SA
enlist 7-12-15 RTA 11-7-17
His service record shows he served in South Africa with A Sqn (Squadron) BNH (don't know?)
I was looking at these as possibles;
British North Horse (no such unit)
Border Horse (but no "N")
British Native Horse (no such unit)
That's as far as my guesses got, have you any ideas what "BNH" maybe?
Cheers
