Battle of Waterberg - Herero Flag?

I posted under an old thread about a Waterberg commemoration but not sure it will be seen so I have added a new thread. I am finishing up a board game on the battle of Waterberg. I am trying to see if anyone has any information on any flag used by the Hereros. In several pictures of the Herero commemoration of the battle I see a red flag with a kudu on it but do not know if this dates from the period. I understand the Hereros did use red markings to distinguish themselves but have nothing definitive on a specific flag. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!
