Mates,
I was going throw the Verlustlisten 1. Weltkrieg chasing names of German soldiers in Palestine/Turkey and found this with many names of soldiers in Africa.
If you enter Deutsch-Ostafrika, Deutsch-Südwestafrika and Schutztruppe für Deutsch-Südwestafrika
You get around Es wurden 6744 Einträge gefunden.
To many for me to go threw but as that's your area you maybe interested.
Cheers

Re: Names of soldiers in Africa
Mates,
Found some of interest?
Austauschgefangene Schutztruppen aus der Schweiz 8 Togo and or
Schutztruppen 17 Togo and or
Internierte Schutztruppen in der Schweiz 4 Landesverteidigungstruppe Togo
All these units are shown under a soldier named
Maske Günther
But there are a number of men shown in this unit?

Re: Names of soldiers in Africa
Chris,
Sorry mate been away
Yes the site was given to me as
Verlustlisten 1. Weltkrieg
Its also shown as;
http://des.genealogy.net/eingabe-verlus ... arch/index
Its the casualty returns for the German Army during the war.
Clearly not all are given but officers and soldiers killed wounded or injuried and possibly prisoners or missing are listed.
My translation of the old German used in these documents is limited but most can be understood.
Cheers
