Only a minute contribution but the German presence in Crete 1897/8 (one officer,15 sailors)must be acknowledged.

Hello Peter,

You've supplied that link before, but I only looked at the pictures then. This is a small but important piece of history along the rocky road of the fledgling Greek nation. (I love reading about small detachments of troops sent to far-flung places)
