Hellmuth Baum

Post by Peter H » 06 Apr 2006 14:27

Baum was another German who went into hiding in New Guinea during WW1.

'Baum Valley' named after him is near Wau.Accounts call Baum a 'miner' but I think this more relates to his gold mining activities in the area after 1918.

Baum was killed, beheaded by natives in 1931.

Any further details on Baum would be appreciated.
