Italian HEAT

Post by Brady » 15 Apr 2020 16:07

I am struggling to find a well referenced list of not just the guns that fired a HEAT round (Efecto Pronto, aka EP) , but also of the penetration values for those rounds, below would seam start but a formulaic approach was used to "guess" at the penetration values(not my work):

47/32 4cm/90* out to 1300m (from April 1942)
65/17 4cm/90* out to 1500m (from march 1942)
75/18 7cm/90* out to 1000m (from October 1942)
75/27 7cm/90* out to 1000m (from March 1942)
75/34 7cm/90* out to 1500m (1943?)
100/17 12cm/90* out to 1500m (March 1942)

Does anybody, have source or a means to check the figures above ?

Thanks...

I don't think there is a chance to hit anything out to even 1,000m. Numbers seem hard to find.
The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41
