I agree about his rank, however I do think he is Alberto Pariani and not Vittorio Ambrosio.

I don't think there is any Italian general in the second photo, apart from Gariboldi.

Like zaptiè wrote in a previous post, those Italian officers seem to be of PAI (Italian African police) and government/colonial administrators (this is the same photo from a different angle).

In the first photo, the officer shaking hands with Gariboldi seems to be a Regia Aeronautica officer, maybe Mario Ajmone-Cat

but really difficult to say with more certainty from that angle..

Hi, who is the two Italian officers behind Mussolini? Does anyone knows where and when this picture was taken?

The mostrine worn by the generale di brigata of the San Marcos indicates it is from the R.S.I. period. I am thinking July 1944 during Mussolini's visit to Germany. The San Marco general could be Aldo Princivalle. However not 100% sure.

Hi,

A few searches in Google leads me to think that the photo is taken at Grafenwöhr in April 1944. The officer immediately behind Mussolini is unknown to me, but to the right is Aldo Princivalle, commander of the San Marco Division, and behind him (almost invisible) is Rodolfo Graziani. To the right the two German officers is Konrad von Alberti and behind him Friderich Fromm.

Agree. I forgot that Mussolini visited the San Marco in April. I believe the officer behind Mussolini is a tenente colonnello, likely the commander of the unit being inspected. He is wearing artillery insignia without a divisional mostrine. The men aren't wearing mostrine nor the M41 guibba that was worn by the sailors of the San Marco, so not one the marine regiments. If this is the artillery regiment of the 3º d. «San Marco», that officer is either ten. col. Alfredo Possenti or Giuseppe De Martis.

Again not 100% sure.
