Italian song (I think)?
Italian song (I think)?
Hi guys,
Can anyone help me out here?
In a live recording of a band, this - obvious edit - of a world war 2 era song is played.
Although I hear it's been heavily edited with reverb, I really love the song.
Does anyone know what the original is? I'm guessing it's Italian, but I'm not sure.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Italian song (I think)?
Sounds Russian to me, but unfortunately can't make anything out.
From 0:18 to 0:23 it resembles Suliko, Georgian song, popular in Soviet Union.

Hi Greg,
I’m afraid that isn’t it. Anyone else?

Yep IMHO russian. I think i recognised the melody but your link has really crappy sound.
I mistakenly thought it is ortohodox church music but IMHO it is old russian folk song.
Very "churchy" version:
Хор Сретенского монастыря - Однозвучно гремит колокольчик (Moscow Sretensky monastery quire - The bell rings monotonously)
A bit more similar version. Great soloist:
Златоуст - Однозвучно гремит колокольчик (Zlatoust - The bell rings monotonously)

Re: Italian song (I think)?
Wow, that's so great. I've been looking for this song since 2002, believe it or not.
Heartfelt thanks for helping me out! After some further research, I found the original cut of the song:
Thanks so much!
