I'm a new kid on the block. Noticed you have no mention of this beauty. (No interest in sales, YMMV, Do not plug in while in bathtub, Etc.)

Be advised the pricing listed is incorrect. The book is $115 including shipping to US addresses.

Mussolini's Italy- Life Under The Facist Dictatorship 1922-1945 by R. J. B. Bosworth is a good overview on how the government worked during this period.

Mussolini- A Study In Power by Ivonne Kirkpatrick is an older book but is a good starting point.

This book only deals with the Italian Social Republic (later days Fascism) but its still an interesting read:

Amazon should have it ready to ship by this Friday, I believe the author is familiar to some of the members of this forum as I have read mentions to his work before.

I recently finished Mussolini's War by F. Joseph.
Shows that the Italian forces were not the comic opera clowns that Allied propaganda portrayed.

F. Joseph's book is bordering science fiction. While your (and his, to be fair) conclusions are right, I don't think that a book like that can be regarded as something more than useless.

I agree. Very poorly researched, and the author doesn't hide his over-enthusiasm about the Italian war effort.

Jack Greene (that is one of the best and most respected US authors on italian military history matters) did wrote an interesting short review on http://www.amazon.com/review/R63LTV0CZZ ... LTV0CZZYMG, and I strongly advise everybody to read it carefully before even remotely considering buying this book.

It s easily possible to verify Mr.Greene's opinions on the ample extracts of the book published on http://books.google.it/books?id=ycn33iB ... ar&f=false.

Some passages are ... how to say ... very enlightning about the overall "value" of the book ... 8O

The most authoritative historian in Italy on this subject is Renzo DeFelice.....for am exhaustive and scholarly approach to these
issues I recommend looking into his works....

I realize the last post on this topic was entered on 10 December 2014, but are there any quality books on the RSI from the time of the September 1943 Armistice to the end of hostilities? I'm primarily interested in the relations between the RSI and the German authorities in the north.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge-
