Is there any way to confirm pre-war and WW2 service in the Italian Army?

Afaik you should still be able to approach the proper service branch or main governmental service about this. I forget how it goes, sorry.

Some records from ww2 will not be researchable. As with my Grandfather who's records were "lost" in a warehouse fire and even when his commanding officer vouched for him in a hearing he was denied pension.
