What does the Italian expression "RIFIUTI DI NETTUNO" or Trash of Neptune, mean? I just purchased an Italian RSI propaganda postcard with that text on it.

Interesting!!!!! Many thanks. Was Neptune the Allied name from the Anzio Beachhead? Where does the Nettuno come from?

The landing was actually at Nettuno beach. Been sunbathing there a lot. When I went 12 years or so ago you could still find quite a few people remembering the landing.

I also think the town was actually called Nettunia then?
The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41
