Excess mortality?

Is there any statistical study about mortality/excess deaths among the Italian population during World War II? I have seen such statistics from WWI (with only 3,400 civilian deaths caused by direct was causes, but an estimated 500,000-600,000 "excess deaths") but not for WWII (when civilian deaths directly caused by war were 153,000).
