Italian airplanes in April 1933

Hi,

Hans Baur in his book talks about Göring's visit to Italo Balboa Roma in April 1933. He is mentioning that the Italian airplanes which had to accompany them in the air were too to slow, they did not even go to the speed of 130 miles per hour... Baur was piloting a condor... he was flying at more than 130 miles per hour and arrived 30 minutes before the Italian fighters....

I wonder how is it possible that fighters could be slower than a heavy bomber airplane like the condor ?

Can anyone identify the fighters in question please ?

Thanks in advance

Three things:
1) The likely transport aircraft Hans Baur was flying would be a Ju-52. If Baur remembered using the Condor in 1933, his recollections are clearly faulty; The specification for the Condor was issued in 1936 with the first prototype flight on July 27, 1937. This is four years after the flight in question.

2) For 1933, the contemporary Italian Fighters, CR20 (170 mph)/CR30 218 mph/CR32 220mph) were faster than the JU52.

3)The inconsistency on what aircraft type he was flying makes Baurs other recollections suspect.

1) My bad. Baur talked about a Ju 52.
2) That's what Baur thought too : that the fighters could fly that fast, but since they were unable to follow him, he concluded that the factory data were overrated.
