My reading is still weak on understanding the thinking behind the course of the fleet composition doctrines, and selection for construction. Its clearly battleship centric, but with a strong submarine arm and what turned out to be weak air arm. Can anyone give me a quick thumbnail summary, & some recommended English language reading.
