I do not think he would have been explicitly forbidden from entering politics, as far as I knows only the main branch of the Savoys was targeted in this respect. But I do not think he would have done so anyway, considering all cadet Savoys either went into self-exile or retired to private life after 1946. If any of them were to get involved in politics, I think it would have been with the Monarchist Party rather than the DC.
