I hope not to be like the italian journalist "make yourself a question and give yourself an answer..."...

The name of the italian general of division, captured on 7. november 1942 in the southern desert (Bab el-Sa'uo) with his HQ while retreating, commander of the most southern (anchoretic) axis division on the El Alamein frontline.

Hi Oasis,

Nazzareno Scattaglia? He is listed as a commander of the division in 1942 in the article below.

Hi Oasis,

Next Question: This base was used by the Italian submarines which operated in the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans from September 1940 through September 1943 against the Allied blockade. Name of base? number of submarines? (either one will suffice!)

How many warships, and of what type, were sold by Italy to the Nationalist side during the Spanish Civil War?

Good evening, Ironmachine!

Destroyers "Aquila" and "Falko" (Spanish "Melilla" and "Seuta"), submarines "Archimede" and "Evangelista Torricelli" (1st ones)...Don't know if this list is complete, but IMHO these were all main class Italian warships sold to Spain...

Best regards, Aleks

Hello, Aleks.
There were also four torpedo motor boats: MAS 435, MAS 436, MAS 100 and MAS 223, but that I give you for free.
However, you are missing two more destroyers (in fact, they were contra-torpederi in the Italian Navy, IIRC).

I am looking for information on the total number of MAS and Ms boats made during the war. Also This is for a comparative analysis for my book series, THe Ship Killers.
I have collected all I need for German,American and British MTB's. The Soviet MTB is almost finished but the Italian numbers are still missing. I truly want these included to give-an honest picture time. The Italians took out some major combatants with their boats.

Thank you---Joe Hinds

Hi Joe,

You might want to add your request as a new thread under the Italy under Fascism. Good luck with your research.

Anyone like to post a question for the quiz?
regards Robb

In that case, I think I should post the correct answer to my previous question. Aside from the ships told by AVV, the Italians also sold the destroyers "Huesca" y "Teruel" ("Alessandro Poerio" and "Guglielmo Pepe" in the Italian Navy, respectively).
Regards.
