The picture must be token in WW1 trenches in Flanders (Belgium) or in the North of France
Hitler fought there in 14-18 and visiting those places near the French-Belgian border in may or june 1940
Kindly regards
Prosper

Sorry I haven't anymore , but if you insert "Langemark in 14-18" into the google images search you will find plenty of pictures about langemark.
Kindly regards from Belgium and sorry for my poor english but it's not my native language.

Hitler doesn't seem to have been particularly active in visiting the front.

He could have gone as often as he wanted, but from 1943 seems to have preferred to wait for the front to visit him, which it duly did!

In fairness, apart from the importance to propaganda and morale, there was no particular reason why he should have visited the front much. He had continental wide responsibilities and advanced communications systems. When face-to-face meetings were required, it made more sense for his commanders to visit him.

Both Churchill and King George VI tried to visit Normandy in the very first days after D-Day, but each decided that the other was not expendable and they delayed one another's arrival. Hitler, who combined both their roles, was probably even less expendable to his own side.

One thing I do wonder at is the paucity of evidence for him visiting the wounded. How often is he known to have attended hospitals during the war?

Cheers,

Sid.
