In the period from June to June 1943, 484 units of PzKpfw V were produced. 204 were deployed on the Eastern Front. 98 in transit in the West. The remaining 182 had mechanical problems?

A supply chain is like a hosepipe. You turn the tap on and water rushes to the end of the hose. However you have to fill all the pipe with water and when you turn it off the water in the pipe stays there until the next lot of water pushes it out. You need to allow for the water that is always in the hose.

What is the time period that you meant ? You have written "June to June", plainly just a typo.
Using Martin Block's number there were 456 Panthers produced from May to July 1943, that being 251 in May, 64 in June and 141 in July. If you look at his site you'll see that many of these were in fact returned for repair.

There were only 4 made January to March and they were not operational tanks but test vehicles so there is still some difference between your figures and Martin Block's, as he has only 315 tanks built in that period. Regardless the very larger number returned to the factories answers your question I guess. Where did you get your figures ?
