Besides Berlin and Paris, where there any other cities/towns/WK, that the "Unternehmen Walküre" was implemented during the 20 July 1944, meaning that Wehrmacht (tried to) disarm SS and NSDAP functionaries?

Hi K. Kocjanic,
From memory, the coup was most successful in Vienna and Prague.
Cheers,
Sid.

Interesting! I have never seen any sources regarding other cities. Do you perhaps remember where did you come upon this info?Sid Guttridge wrote: ↑11 Aug 2020 06:37Hi K. Kocjanic,

Hi K Kokjancic,
I can't tell you which books I got that from. However, any history of the plot rather than Stauffenberg specifically should contain some details. Look upon this information as a lead rather than a sourced fact.
The plot was a nationwide one. The point of taking over Ersatzheer headquarters in Berlin was to use its nationwide garrisons and authority to order the Ersatzheer in the assorted Wehrkreises round the country into action against the local Nazi authorities, who had supposedly been complicit in Hitler's assassination.
However, most Wehrkreise commanders wanted more hard facts before acting. I think that only in Vienna and Prague did they take any action before Goebbels recovered the initiative in Berlin. I seem to remember that, among other things, the Vienna Gestapo were rounded up.
Cheers,
Sid.
