Good Morning Gentleman, I'm attempting to research & document & Fatal Casualty from the 2nd COMPANY, 335TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 205 INFANTRY DIVISION. HE WAS KIA ON 15 JUNE 1942, NEAR NOWO-NIWY RUSSIA. ( Below is an overall description from where I obtained his Documents. ) If anyone can tell me 'anything' regarding the actual operations going on with Gefreiter Franz Riepertinger's Company / Regiment on or about the date he was killed. As always, any & all replies will be very much appreciated ! THANK YOU

Best regards, Dom Pastore Jr. / 'dpast32'

These two situation maps show the area that 205.ID fought in during June 1942, one dated 2nd and the other 30th. You can see that there isn't a whole lot of movement and the same Russian units are located in the same areas so he would have died fighting in that area.

His casualty card states that he was killed by a shot to the head although whether this was really the case or just used as a matter of convenience is unknown.

What can I actually say but 'WOW' !! Yet again my Friends have indeed come through for me, & 'hucks216', you may rest assured that I appreciate it very much !! As I'm sure you're already aware, attempting to dechiper the WW2 era Russian locations, as opposed to their current name, can be a quite daunting task at best. The Casualty Card is also very interesting, & of course much appreciated. Usually I prefer to collect / research Polizei related Documents, as I'm somewhat more familiar with them, as opposed to the other Service Branches. But, when I happened across this particular Wehrpass, & for a fair price, I simply couldn't pass it up. Although this Landser was just another of the so very many Fatalities suffered along the Eastern Front, to me he represents the extremely intense back & forth assaults in the attempt at taking Moscow. Naturally, I have a great deal of documentation to do on this one, as I literally just picked it up. THANK YOU !!

P.S.: If by chance b anyone wishes to view any particular page within this Wehrpass, please advise & I will try to get them Posted here.

Best, Dom P.

Hello Guys, As it appears that I can load only 5 scans, whereas his Wehrpass consist of 14, I've decided instead to simply include the Link to my Ancestry.com Page dedicated to him. All 14 pages may be viewed there, in addition to a few other related items. You will however probably require an Ancestry Subscription, but hopefully many of us will have one ? Naturally, if anyone notes anything of particular interest within this Pass, I will deeply appreciate hearing from them ! THANK YOU

Best, Dom P.

Good Morning Folks, I have a question regarding the above KIA Gefrieter's Wehrpass, & as usual, someone here might be able to advise me on it ? As we know, 'usually' when an individual is either KIA / DOW, & or MIA, isn't it customary for his Unit Command to forward his Wehrpass home to his Next Of Kin ? I'm not certain if the Pass would first be sent to the Military Command in his Home Town of Record, & then delivered to his NOK, - or - would it have just been forwarded directly to his Family ! ALSO, many times while looking through various Wehrpasse I've noted, usually on the last, or nearby pages some notations which appear to be stating that the Pass had been sent out to the proper authorities, whomever they may have been at that particular point in time ? I have included the last, final few pages from the Wehrpass in question, so that hopefully someone here might be able confirm my overall suspicions on this matter ? As always Guys, I very much appreciate any & all of your kind assistance !! THANK YOU

Best regards, Dom P.
