Did wehrmacht issue condoms to the soldiers? If so, waht kind?

Yes, condoms were made available.
A photo of such a Wehrmacht-only package in "Uniforms & Traditions of the German Army Vol 3" by John R Angolia has the name "Vulkan Sanex".

Raymond Gannter in 'Roll me Over' writes that his unit (G Company 16th Inf Reg Ist Inf Div) came across a large number of the German issue. They weren't particuarly impressed.

were the condoma comparable to modern sensitive ones? or were they thick and uncomfortable? does anyone know?

The vulkan Sanex condoms were rather crude and not made for sexual pleasure. The only thing that was interesting, that is to the medical staff, was stoping sexualy transmited deseases!

One thing that is interesting though is the issue of condoms to the soldiers involved in Barbarossa... The german soldiers were forbiden to have sexual contact with the civilian population in the eastern countries but were still given condoms... hm... I wonder if some high medical officer somewhere was using his brain instead of his right arm when he thought of young soldiers seeing women after months of combat, ha ha!

Here is a Wehrmacht-issue condom complete with its packaging. The instructions require the rubber johnny to be burnt after use. However, it is actually reusable. One just has to wash it thoroughly. I suppose the soldiers used spit for lubrication, or hair cream. Axle grease would work quite well too although it would degrade the rubber.

In the battle for Stalingrad. When the army needed ammo and other recourses. due to an administratin error they got a shipment of a million condoms. nice detail, the only women there tried to kill them.

Condoms were made available, but they had to be BOUGHT; they were not issued for free. :oops: HN.

I wouldn't laugh. To get marjoram and pepper and condoms when one is eating mice and seeing toes rot of comrades feet isn't particularly funny to me. :|
