German Raiding parties against Britain

During the war the allies increased the number of riads against occupied Europe, year on year. With the sucess achieved in the raids, why didn't the Germans launch Brandenburger raids against the East Coast of Britain, especially where RAF airfields were near to the coast etc. Maybe this wouldn't have been posible in the later years of WW2 but certainly till mid 1943 I would have thought?
