Let's Build a unit
Nebelwerfer
Or an Nebelwerferregiment like SS-Werfer Abteilung 501 or 505 or 506 or an Wehrmacht Werferregiment like WR 51/52/53/54/55/57/70/81/82/89! I think an exotic project!

has anyone thought about the 18th Artillery Division, it was the only one of its kind, and really only an experiment carried out by Von Manstein.
Altough it started in the east in 1943, it ended the war I believe, at regimental strengh on the Western Front.
As it was a German "copy" of a Russian idea, it may apeal to David C. Clarke?
Regards,Bill

SS-Panzer-Brigade Gross would also be a good idea, not much reference to this unit in books. What about the 44. Reichs-Grenadier-Division Hoch und Deutschmeister? I have never really looked of info on this unit, so there might be a book available. I did read somewhere that they did not distinguish themselves in Italy.

Hi Al
Hi Al, the 44th Infantry Division would be an interesting subject, but I am certain it has a unit history. This Division was originally raised in Austria and was one of those destroyed at Stalingrad, only to be ressurrected. It fought in Italy and was destroyed in Hungary in 1945. Balck claimed it was the only large unit ever assigned to his command that was surrounded and destroyed by the Russians. Regards, David

How About?
Hey Guys, how about a Volkgrenadier Division, like the 352nd (everyone has books on the Battle of the Bulge) or a Kampfgruppe? Pick one! I really think it should be something off the beaten track.
