I.D. actress nickname "Erika"

Post by Georges JEROME » 01 Aug 2019 15:27

Since months I try to ID this "actress" called Erika who went in Metz and made cover of the magazine "Erika" in 1940.

Some proposal (Karin Hardt , Maria Erika Glässner...) but no formal I.D.

Here a pic in annexed Metz. Thanks

I know the First Mountain Division Gebirgsjäger sand a beloved song called "ERIKA."
Maybe a connection?

Hello, JWW

The song "Erika" (1938) was popular worldwide and it had no ties to any army branch, let alone to a particular unit. It is, however, very much possible that the popular song inspired the title of the magazine.

Hello, Georges

I don't know who the girl is, but I can suggest you to try searching the Google with words "Schauspielerin", "Erika" and "AK" (Ansichtskarte). Maybe a matching face will pup-up.

Cheers,
Ivan

Hello, Georges

She was 38 years old in 1940, so... I think the girl with the troops in France may have been younger (or not, it's hard to tell). There is some resemblance. Can you share the original magazine caption for the France-photo? Or captions, if she appears in more than one photo.

Cheers,
Ivan

(@Gorque :D )

Maybe a close-up of her face might help:

Strange caption... No surname.

Here's what Erika von Thellmann looked like in 1940. She does appear to be older than the magazine girl, but it's hard to tell with all the light in the magazine photo (everyone looks younger under the bright sun).
