Re: NS Frauenschaft
Hello,
the following photo seems to be a good example of the very early NS Frauenschaft dress when you still may have called them 'brownskirts'. The NS Frauenschaft chapter from the village of Hollwege in county Ammerland in 1931/1932. Most of them are wearing a combination of brown shirt, brown skirt and a brown tie together with brown stockings and black shoes. Curiously the brown ties seem to have been tucked into the shirt in most cases. I've never seen this being done before in Germany and always thought it was an American habit. Strange.
From left to right:

Kea Ley
Auguste Meiners, nee Hellwig
Hanna Harbers, nee Schnupper
Hermine Harbers, nee Alberts
Grete Cordes, nee Post
Luise Klinkebiel

Re: NS Frauenschaft
Good evening,
two more pictures found at http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/8r7b-fe-jpg.html. They are said to be copies from a set of slides called 'Reichsfrauenführung'. Perhaps Vikki or some other expert for the Frauenschaft badges can identify what position the lady in the centre of the upper picture held. I noticed the upper black fields look surprisingly narrow when compared with the bright bar above.
Best regards
Torsten

I'm no "expert" by a long shot, but I'm sure you knew I wouldn't be able to resist a comment like that, Torsten.Heimatschuss wrote:Perhaps Vikki or some other expert for the Frauenschaft badges can identify what position the lady in the centre of the upper picture held.
Both of the women with Frau Scholtz-Klink are wearing second-style Frauenschaft badges, which date the photo between 1934-38. However, both enlarging the badge of the woman in the center and looking at it full-scale, it doesn't appear to have a colored border as I expected. That would make her simply a member, rather than on the staff of one of the various geographical levels of NSF administration.
The badge of the woman on the right may have a black border, which would place her as a staff member of the NSF at the Kreis level.
There was some variation among manufacturers. See for example the difference in proportion of the black fields of the two center members' pins in the photo below.Heimatschuss wrote:I noticed the upper black fields look surprisingly narrow when compared with the bright bar above.
Best,

Sota ei päätä kuka on oikeassa, vain sen että kuka on jäljellä.
War does not decide who is right but only those who are left.

Re: NS Frauenschaft
Hello Helge,
These are not Frauenschaft ladies, but BdM girls. The insignium on the chest of the girl on the left is a life rune, and a medical trade patch for the BdM. See http://www.bdmhistory.com/research/badges.html#four
Could you also provide a source for the photo, please?
Thanks,
~Vikki
