Hitler's Sister ... Last Name "Hitler"

#1

Post by Walther Darré » 06 Apr 2002, 16:06

Adolf Hitler had a sister. What was her name, and what happened to her?

Why did Alois and Klara change the last name to "Hitler"? And what was the name they had before that, btw?

Hitler's name

Alois' name was originally 'Schicklgruber' and wanted it changed to 'Hiedler', which was his step father's name. After he entered the civil service, his uncle convinced him to change it, because the name 'Schicklgruber' basically said he was an illegitimate son. However, when he went to have it changed in the record books, someone misspelled it as 'Hitler'. And so, the Nazis shouted 'Heil Hitler' rather than 'Heil Hiedler' Regards!

I wonder how things would have gone had the surname not been changed. I can't imagine any German with one iota of self-respect going around shouting, HEIL SCHICKLGRUBER!

Z

Paula Hitler did get married, and did have at least one child. Her married name was Paula Raubl (aka Raubel). Her daughter was Angela "Geli" Raubl, whom Adolf Hitler allegedly had an affair with. Geli Raubl was, for a time, set up in an apartment paid for by her uncle, Adolf, where she is said to have waited for his visits. It has been reported that when Adolf Hitler did not spend enough time with his niece, she committed suicide. The suicide is sure, but the actual motive open to question, as is the nature of the relationship between Adolf Hitler, and his sister, Paula's daughter.

I had thought that I heard that Adolf's sister was living in the U.S., in North or South Dakota, something like that?

At Hitler's insistance, Paula Hitler used the name Paula Wolf, after he came to power. After the war she reverted to Paula Hitler. She was born on 21 January 1896 and died on 1 June 1960. She is buried in Berchtesgaden,. I have a photo of her and her grave site in my collection.

suicide or...?

Geli his niece's suicide was the subject of a programme I watched a while ago which suggested that all might not have been as seen and there were several things which did not add up with the suicide story, even the Berlin police were rumoured to have something to do with how it looked...but who will ever know for sure...just something I heard.

Geli Raubal could not have committed suicide. She was a staunch Roman Catholic; suicide is a mortal sin, which would have denied her burial in sacred grounds (church cemetary). She was however buried with full church rites. So if she did not ? who did "done her in"?. H.N.

Supposedly Franz Xaver Schwarz, NSDAP Treasurer, played a major role in covering up the entire affair, for which he received Hitler's endless gratitude. Some even believe that Schwarz, himself, pulled the trigger.

That is nonsense...I pray you to notice how many Catholics commit suicide anyhow every year. Plus she was a very young and emotional girl. even Eva had some temptations to do herself harm in base of the busy schedule of Hitler.
It was Hitler and his good influences who managed to get a cementery plot for Geli, or perhaps you want us to believe that in case of an assasination by Hitler's henchman, that the church authorities would have known, therby granting her that resting place.

The above is full of errors. Geli Raubal was certainly not the daughter of Paula Hitler, who was Adolf Hitler's full sister (they had the same father, Alois Hitler, and the same mother, Klara Poelzl). Paula Hitler never married.

The mother of Geli Raubal was the daughter of Alois Hitler by an earlier marriage, ie she was Adolf Hitler's half-sister. Geli was therefore not Adolf Hitler's full niece, but only a half-niece, if such a term exists.

Geli's mother had a brother, Alois Jnr, who emigrated to Liverpool in Great Britain, where he married an Irish girl, Bridget, by whom he had a son, William Patrick Hitler, Adolf's importunate half-nephew. Bridget Hitler later published a fictional tale about a visit by Adolf Hitler to Liverpool just before the First World War.

In the late thirties William Patrick Hitler moved to the United States, where he married and had three sons. These are the last remaining close relatives of Adolf Hitler; a fuss is made about them from time to time.

Let's have some historical accuracy on this bulletin board, instead of sensationalist crap.

These pictures are communications documenting the interrogation of Hitler's sister, Paula Hitler, who lived under the name Mrs. Paula Wolff. Hitler made Paula change her name during his rapid rise to power in Germany. Mrs. Wolff states in her interrogation that her "biggest outside interest is the Catholic Church". She also states that she feels that Adolf Hitler never left the Catholic Church during his reign as the Nazi dictator of Germany. In this de-briefing by the CIC, the reader also finds that Mrs. Wolff met the mysterious Eva Braun. After reading this document, one can get a personal reference of the Hitler family life. THIS IS TRULY AN AMAZING AND INFORMATIVE DOCUMENT ON THE PERSONAL LIFE OF ADOLF HITLER.
