Do 1930's societies still exist?

Interesting item I discovered recently:

There was a British version of the BDM Glaube und Schonheit called 'The Women’s League of Health and Beauty' founded in London in 1930. It was around a lot longer than that (since 1912 when its founder worked abroad) and it is rumoured that the BDM may have copied elements of the British league. They too espoused healthy female bodies for childbearing, to improve posture and fitness, and create inner confidence but they differed in that they allowed older women over the age of 18 to join.

In order to get some publicity in 1930, Mollie Stack the founder organised a free display to the music of a military band by 150 members in Hyde Park. The demonstration was a huge success. Soon League centres opened in Belfast, Birmingham and Glasgow. More teachers trained and by 1934 membership had increased to 47,000.

The society still exists today in the UK as 'The Fitness League' and still use some of the same techniques from the 1930's, even those excercise batons and still insist on excercising barefoot like their 1930's counterparts.

Had the Germans successfully invated Britain one wonders if the League would have survived or would have been incorperated within the BDM?

Anyone else got some factlets like this?
