Women of the Reichspost im Bild
Some Reichspost ladies making their way to work through bomb-damaged Berlin, from the cover of the 15 December 1943 issue of Die Wehrmacht magazine. What's most interesting is the second scan, an enlargement of the caption for the photo: Berlin's version of "Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night...."?

At first I wondered why a magazine like Die Wehrmacht would be showing such demoralizing photos (along with the photospread on the bombing inside) of the capital. Then I realized that both these photos and the Reichspost identity document shown above in this thread must be in reaction to the renewed Allied bombing campaign--with more effective radar devices and more deadly accuracy--begun in November 1943 (See Le Tissier, Berlin Then and Now).

Re: Women of the Reichspost im Bild
Hello,
another Reichspost girl with a delivery van full of parcels. The van seems to be powered by wood gas. The black hatch on its left side must be where the wood is thrown in.

Re: Women of the Reichspost im Bild
copy right are a trickie subject
but owning a photo may not give you a copyright to it
sure you own that copy
but that does not give you the right to make more copys
or post it on the web
then with the fall of the reich they donot have rights anymore if it was a state owned work
but if the photograffer was not working for the state he may retain copyright
or his estate or those rights could have been sold to a third party
so unless you bought the photo and the copyrights from the guy who shot the photo
your E-bay purchase may give you no more legal rights then the guy who copied it off the web
ie none at all
but as I like to see pictures please keep posting them

nota,
Neither owning a photo nor puchasing one from EBay normally gives the owner copyright. Neither does posting it on the internet. On the other hand, it is rare these days that copyright is retained on a photo by the original photographer or by a purchaser of copyright rights.
I'm not sure where you're going with this post, or to what it was a response. Please clarify, and if necessary I'll move your post to the Reference Materials section for discussion.

a post by snookie about coping a photo from e-bay in this thread started this discussion
so I shot in my 2 cents on copy right vs snookie's ownership of the photo [but perhaps not the copyright]
but as every country's laws differ on time of those rights and other bits
and the idea of ''fair use'' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use
as this is a history site and is not making a profit from users posts of photo's
I hope you are safe under the ''fair use'' idea
