I am blown away looking at this. I'd also have to put my "vote" in for Inge Ley (?) as the loveliest, with Eichmann's wife following at a close second. What I cannot understand is how such apparently attractive, normal looking people can be responsible for such utter brutality. I am also of the opinion that what they did to so many of their children--not just the ones killed by parents, but the ones turned into fanatics and killers--is atrocious.

I cannot understand, why people can't have pride in themselves without tearing others down.

This photograph was signed and dedicated to Major Charles Snyder in blue quill pen with a full name signature. She signed this for me on one of our many visits together in the early 1970s. We also have some of her original signed and initialed original oil paintings in the collectible art section of the website...

On April 7, 1945 former secretary and mistress Luise Katharina von Benda married OKW Alfred Jodl, a year after his first wife died. She was instrumental in his defense, however, she was unable to get the requisite documents to prove he was not guilty of crimes against humanity. OKW Alfred Jodl was convicted and executed as a result of the sentence passed at the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials. He was later (1953) found to be Not Guilty of the crimes he was accused of and executed for, and what remained of his possessions were returned to Luise Jodl. Note his photographs on her mantle...

I believe Alfred and Luise Jodl were actually married a year earlier in 1944.

She worked for the German Red Cross in Berlin towards the end of the war and was present when the dead body of Roland Freisler was brought into the Lutzow hospital after the enormous USAAF raid in early February 1945. She later said in an interview that no one had a word of sympathy for the man.

Ignore the first part of my post above. As others have correctly said, wedding date was 7 March 1945. The engagement had been in late 1944.
