What's even sadder is the fact that the 3 dead young men buried there thought they were helping Germany, also...
By that time those young men fought for their families and comrades. :(

Yes...I agree with that, too. Ask most soldiers who they fight and die for, and they will tell you it's friend's and family...not patriotic or political ideology. :)

I don't know, I've I got to die, the thought of scantily clad women hanging around my grave sounds nice.

Thankyou everyone for sharing your photos.

They are for me of special interest. My Mother
was there at the time and I look for her in any of
the photos. She would have worn her hair sort of
wrapped up in the style of the day (I think an influence
of Betty Grable) but also because she contracted
typhoid from dirty water in Berlin. Spent a month
in an Russian hospital and woke up with no hair. So
for many years she wore the scarve on her head which
was so popular for some years after the war.

She now has lots and lots of hair... :D

I shall in another thread tell you what happened to some
women after May 1945 from Berlin.

This one is interesting. It appears to be female auxiliaries and civilian's tending wounded solders. This photo suggest that this was taken well after the fighting has stopped. Dose any one have any info on this scene ? I would like to more about this image.
cheers.
