ACTOR (GERMANY)
BORN 30 Jan 1910, Wesermünde (now: Bremerhaven) - DIED 8 Nov 2005, Grünwald, Oberbayern
GRAVE LOCATION Grünwald, Oberbayern: Waldfriedhof (Urnenhalle Süd innen)

Carola Höhn worked at a clothing shop before she moved to Berlin where she took acting lessons. As early as 1929 she obtained a contract with UFA after she sent them some photographs. She soon played in her first movie, "Aus dem Tagebuch eines Junggesellen" ("From the Diary of a Bachelor"). In 1933 she made her theatre debut at the Schlossparktheater in Steglitz.

Her big break as a movie actress came with "Ferien vom Ich" in 1934 and she appeared in 30 movies until the end of the war, mostly playing intelligent young women. She continued her career after the war. Because of her work as a voice dubber she moved from Berlin to München. Hers was the German voice of Katherine Hepburn and others.

Carola Höhn worked until old age. From 1987 until 1997 she was in the tv series "Praxis Bülenbogen". In 1994 she could be seen in the musical "My Fair Lady" in Berlin. In 1996 she left the stage.

Hallo Peter

Fascinating posts, guys! Personally, I have so little knowledge of "personalities" of the period, these posts are great!

And....I want the suit and hat! :D
