Actually it´s a 1938 or 1939 photo. Brocaded white SS belt was issued in 1938 (I think in May during Hitler´s trip to Italy).

The picture and different resources in the web says that Fitzthum married in 1937.

Pavel when he married in 1937 why do you suggest in your first post that the picture was done in 1938 or 1939??

Nobody has any doubt that the pic shows his wedding!

Like I said, Fitzthum is wearing brocaded white SS belt, which was issued in 1938. So I guess Phil´s photo isn´t from 1937.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. There are some attractive couples there. It really saddens me to think that a lot of them were probably killed in such pointless conflict. Thanks Lushy Churchill and Roosevelt for demanding Unconditional Surrender, which of course translates into something far more grim in the German. . ..

Larry,

Interesting photo. What's the jacket he's wearing, with the tape and buttons on the sleeve? Is it the KM equivalent of a Heer Waffenrock or dress tunic?

Hi Vikki,

Yes he is wearing a EM/Junior NCO parade-jacket. I believe the jacket is of the Bolero/Spencer style.
