Thanks, the timing of this post is great for me, because I got married this year, and weddings have definitely been on my mind. :D

This is for the fashionistas out there...I'm comparing these photos to American wedding dresses from the same time, and it's interesting that the halo-style headpiece was used in both countries, but the sweetheart neckline and padded shoulders (popular in the USA) doesn't seem to have been common in Deutschland.

I think if all these Third Reich brides could use a time machine and see today's strapless styles, they would think modern brides are quite indecent! :wink:

It's a specialty patch for a Fernschreiber (teletype machine) NCO (note the cord around the edge of the patch).

Another sister of my grandmother ( she had 5 ). Her husband was KIA soon after the wedding in Russia.

Yes, at this time he belonged to the Fallschirm-Sturmgeschütz-Brigade XII. I have some papers ( beside some other stuff) indicatig that.
