Re: WEDDINGS - Here come the BRIDES!
I agree, that is quite a photo of the Diplomatic Corps groom's wedding, Larry!

This may or may not be a wedding photo. They are standing in front of what looks to be a church door
so it is possible that it is a wedding photo.
The groom has lost his left arm (automatically earning the Silver Wound Badge) and would have been invalided out
of active duty.

They certainly knew how to make nice uniforms in those days. Very stylish!
Look at that peaked cap!
Here is another addition to my RAD wedding portrait collection.

I agree, that is a very lovely cap! It does have quite a high crown in front, though he seems to be wearing it pushed pretty far back on his head. Still, the height of the crown in front is one of the style I like the best because they look so cocky, though the peak could be a little more pointed. He just needed to push it in a bit high on the sides of the crown for the ultimate effect...but I don't suppose ones does that to a hat like that.Larrister wrote:Hi Vikki,

I agree with you the peak on that cap is very exagerated giving the groom that cocky look. The gala uniform was probably a private purchase and I wonder why he didn't wear the normal waffenfrock like one sees in most wedding photos. The groom seem to be wearing a style very similar to the uniform at left below. It's hard to tell whether his uniforn is grey or the normal Luft. blue.
Here are two examples of the Luftwaffe gala uniform. Source: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/ ... p?t=337647
