Kurt looks very agitated, IMHO.

Here is the text on the back of the photo. Personally I don't think he looks agitated.

Here are two photos from a large photo lot. Unfortunately I could only get two photos.
They show a mass wedding ceremony. The first photos I have ever seen like this.

First photo shows a line of 5 NCO's and four men in civilian clothing with their brides. Some brides are in traditional dress while some are not. One bride is still in her nurse's uniform.

One reason for a mass wedding could be that couples may have had to wait for a priest or official to visit their area.
He may have had only a short time there so marrying people en mass would make sense.

Cheers,
Larry

One couple being married. The other brides and grooms face each other. The person doing the marrying seems to be a priest.

These two brides could almost be twin sisters.

Ye Gads ! That bride that Carius posted looks like a 12 year old 8O . I just love browsing this thread, maybe its a 'girl' thing but I look at all of these couples and wonder what became of them all, did the husbands survive, did they become POWs etc. As someone else mentioned, some of the couples look so sad, maybe the guy was only on short leave....I'm fascinated by the social history of these times, I loved 'A woman in Berlin' and I'm so pleased that 'Anonymous' wrote her story. The lives and stories of ordinary people living in those extraordinary times are as fascinating to me as any of the military campaigns. Keep them coming pls :)

Your not the only one who wishes to know what happened to them.
The photos denote promise of happiness at the moment and for the future.
We all wish they were able to have a future.

Guess we will never know but it wonderful just looking at the photos
and keeping this memory alive at least for some of us.

Nice photo, thanks for posting. :D

Also thanks to all for the positive comments. :D While my photo collecting area is quite large (vehicles, portraits, medals, weapons, albums, etc), wedding portraits is my favorite area of collecting. I am happy to share my collection and very happy that members here enjoy it.

Cheers,
Larry

I just went through this whole album and want to thank everyone who contributed to it. It was so interesting to see people carrying on as if nothing was happening, I did notice that some of the men wore their rings on their left hand like we do here in the US. I was under the impression that Germans wore their wedding rings on the right hand.
I agree with the person who mentioned the bland and sour faces. I hope they were happy when it was all over.
