Eva Braun's Birth Certificate
Eva Braun's Birth Certificate
Greetings Axis Members,
Currently for the fun of it I'm doing a little research into the Braun Family and was wondering if anyone here can share a link where I can find Eva Anna Paula Hitler (Braun) (1912 - 1945) official Birth record. I know it's out there somewhere because I keep reading about it, however I can't seem to find an actual source where I can see it with my own eyes ? ?
If anyone out there has digital copy or a source link, please share it here !
Thanks

Re: Eva Braun's Birth Certificate
This is not the birth certificate - I don't recall that I've ever seen that. This is a birth announcement, shown in Nerin Gun's book Hitler's Mistress Eva Braun (NY, Meredith Press, 1968).
Re: Eva Braun's Birth Certificate
Thanks so much for posting this Geoff, I greatly appreciate it !
So far I've come a cross 3 sources which all state a different time of birth: The birth certificate is quoted for 12:30AM in Johannes Frank's book, "Eva Braun" (K.W. Schütz, 1988), p. 27: "vormittags um zwölfeinhalb Uhr;" while Angela Lambert's book, "The Lost Life of Eva Braun" (Century, 2006), p. 16, states that Eva Anna Paula Braun was born on 6 February 1912 at 2:22AM (no source given).
And then of course there is the Birth Announcement which you posted giving "fuenf 1/2" (5:30 AM).
At this point none of the sources can be trusted which in itself is a problem because I'm at the very beginning of my research !
Anyway it's only a minor issue. Thanks again for finding this, Geoff !

Re: Eva Braun's Birth Certificate
If you ever find out more, please let us know!
Is the Frank book any good? I've read the Lambert book ... once ... I had to make myself go all the way to the end.

Re: Eva Braun's Birth Certificate
It's been quite a while since I read the Frank, but I vaguely recall that it was well written, but a little dry as well. Definitely didn't leave a strong impression otherwise I could tell you more
However, I did a little further research into this whole birth certificate enigma and discovered that there is another book out there entitled: Eva Braun-Hitler - Leben und Schicksal Published by Arndt Verlag, Kiel (31 Jan. 1994) by Gun, Nerin E.
which depicts a copy of her 'Geburtsurkunde' somewhere in the 207 pages.
Perhaps there is a member on this forum who owns a copy of this book ?

Re: Eva Braun's Birth Certificate
Found her birth record, but unfortunately I can't decipher the handwriting !
If someone would be so kind and help me decipher this I would be forever grateful !

Re: Eva Braun's Birth Certificate
Hallo,
this birth announcment is right,
6. Februar 1912 früh (frueh) 1/2 1 Uhr
german: früh (frue) is in english: early in the morning
Birth record, which post mtobler is genuin, while the Copy is confirmed by office in Munich, at 29.3.1967.
On the birth record, given at 7.2.1912 in Munich is written date of the birth:
6. Februar 1912 vor mittags zwölf ein halb
it means in english: 6.2.1912 forenoon at twelve and half
So the right birth Data is: 6.2.1912 at 0:30 AM
best regards
Darko
