Re: Pictures of Gertrud Scholtz-Klink
Great photo Helge. Looks like it was taken after the law finally caught up to the couple. They spent three years "on the lamb" so to speak before they were recognised and taken before the de-Nazification courts.
Strangely, for a women's leader / spokesperson in a party that praised chastity in youth and women, she was married 3 times. She married a worker and had 6 children with him before he died, then she married a man named Scholtz, divocing him in 1938 (would be interesting to know if politics led to the break), then married Heissemeyer in 1940. The divorce in 1938 is surprising because Hitler was always so afraid of scandal, not letting the Goebbels' couple divorce etc...
I read in Kurt Ludecke's book "I Knew Hitler" that "National Socialism led to the break-up of many a marriage"..a statement I tend to believe.

Re: Pictures of Gertrud Scholtz-Klink
You can find Castle Bronnen on a precipitous rock in the upper Danube valley. It belongs to the municipality of Fridingen associated to the county of Tuttlingen. The castle is occupied by an architect from Tuttlingen, but the owner is Baron von Enzberg in Mühlheim, who has rented the castle for personal use to the architect. During the time of National Socialism the castle was dispossessed in favour of Reichs Women's Leader Gertrud Scholtz-Klink. From that period dates one of the best ghost storys that can be heard related to Castle Bronnen. It is told that in 1935 Gertrud Scholtz-Klink, who lived that time in the castle, was afflicted with ghosts. She was scared to death and absconded to a neighbouring farm. But the monks who farmed that place refused admission and the woman had to stay all the night in the cowhouse.

Thanks Helge,
very interesting pictures. But a question: in many pictures she is wearing this black tunic, but in one appears SS style sleeve eagle on her left hand. The one she is shaking hands with somebody during the visit in Norway.
with best regards
