Hi,

Everybody knows the world famous music composer Richard Strauss. He had only one son, named Franz.
He met Alice's father in 1907 in Praha during a representation of "Salome".
Franz and Alice later married in 1924 following catholic rituals.
Alice was the daughter of a wealthy jewish family. But she was not bothered by the nazis under Hitler (1933-1945). Her children were not mistreated.
So, i wonder in what extent was Alice jewish ?
Jochen von Lang in his Martin Bormann speaks about a "jewish wife".... but here http://www.richardstrauss.at/strauss-an ... amily.html they speak only about "a “Jewish-related” family of [Franz]".
Maybe she was converted to catholicism ? But bloodly jewish ?
What about the fate of the other members of Alice's family ?

Dr Christian Strauss, grandson of Richard Strauss, died on 2020 February 7 at the age of 87. He was former head of gynaecology and obstetrics at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen hospital in Bavaria.

His mother, Alice, was Jewish. His grandmother, Paula Neumann, was sent to the Theresienstadt concentration camp, where she died.
