Dear Forum,
Were the Helferinnen in the Wehrmacht issued with Soldbuchs and Identification dogtags ? If not, what documents did they have ? Thank you all
Cheers !

This is the "dog tag" of a Wehrmacht Helferin. It is marked with “GEN. z.b.V. IV ERS. D BEI HELFERINNENSCHAFT – BL. GR. NR.22109“.
The reverse has original paper name tag of the Wehrmacht Helferin Kunigunde Wehr.

Sota ei päätä kuka on oikeassa, vain sen että kuka on jäljellä.
War does not decide who is right but only those who are left.

Friend,

This is not an original, is a repro but can give us a good idea about the original ID required!

Hi H A
In the interests of educating members on how to spot reproduction/fakes, can you tell us why you think the above is a reproduction and not original?
The link is to a reproduction seller who does not stamp the blanks.

Cheers

Hello Forum

I am looking for a helferin unit and service record. I only have her name.
In this case anybody knows what the letters before the number 22109 stand for ?
Normally an ID dog tag number is a national social welfare or some other national register.
Is this the case of helferins ? Or were they given an unit level number ?
My doubt is that their status was rather ambiguous because they served in the Wehrmatch but they really did not have a military condition.
If that was a national number and not a number given at unit level, under what title I should look in the Bundesarchiv.

Cheers all !

Sure! You have to be very careful because there are places that sell you reproductions that have gone through an aging treatment. The first thing is to analyze the part, its texture, the materials used, the condition of the ink and the smell (this is very important). If it smells of anything other than old, it's suspicious. The other is to try to have an original model either in photos from specialized texts or in serious virtual stores (such as Weitze, Bunkermilitaria, etc) and be guided by the differences. For example, notice that I have seen documents like Führerschein or Kennkartes but never on this kind of paper like this repro that I put. I have been collecting photos for many years, and it is something that I cannot explain pedagogically, but when I have a photo in hand I can tell if it is from the time or a reprint.

Look, I share a BDM Leader Sports Card, it is absolutely original, there are several places where you can buy it empty, this is the correct color, material and font! Here you can orient yourself to detect a fake, the most important thing I think is the smell of the materia, the correct font and size and the correct intellectual content of the article, that is, it contains what should correctly go there, no more and no less.

Best,
