Woman in Kriegsmarine "Equator Baptism"??

Post by norwest » 07 May 2021 16:09

This photo came with two other Kriegsmarine equator-crossing ceremony pictures. I didn't think that any women were on board ships. Why was she there?

What kind of ship? It might help knowing.
Maybe she‘s a life boat survivor or a passenger onboard the ship in question.
Interesting picture.

I'm afraid I don't know the ship. Thanks for having a look.

Do we even know the ship was German or naval? This was a universal practice.

My best guess was that this was a German ceremony since the photo came with two others of KM ceremonies. The "Polizei" hat the fellow wears was another clue pointing to German. But that's about it.
